Active Dates For Active People
| While dinner-and-a-movie may be classic dates, they don't require a lot of movement. And many active folks--like athletes or fitness enthusiasts--prefer an active date. Fortunately, there are a lot more options than just jogging together in the park. Here are some ideas: |
|
ROLLERBLADING: A Sunday favorite for many folks, rollerblading is a great way to get in shape. It doesn't require quite the same constant effort of running or jogging, so it allows you to still carry a conversation and enjoy each other's company.
ROLLERSKATING: It sounds passe, but imagine the fun! Hit the rollerskating rink for an evening of colored disco lights, 80s music and neon sweatbands. Rollerskating is a great way to take a trip down memory lane AND be active.
HIKING: Grab a backpack and stuff it with water, trail mix and bananas. Then head off to your nearest park or hiking trail! Perfect for a Spring or Autumn day, this type of activity offers plenty of conversation as you observe animals and plants along the path. Just remember to play it safe and bring a map, compass and cell phone.
SKYDIVING: It may sound extreme, but if you have the money, skydiving is a great activity for thrill-seekers. Nothing beats jumping out of a plane and falling toward the ground for an immediate adrenaline rush.
BIKING: If both of you have bikes, a nice ride along a trail or path can be a relaxing way to get a little activity. Serious athletes might enjoy a mountain bike path, which is more physically challenging.
