Do not immediately assume things that he has stood you up. Instead of getting into wrong assumptions, try and be an understanding person. Probably, you would not miss the chance of meeting your dream man.
Reason out whether what he has said could be true. Instead of getting angry or irritated, speak out your disappointment in a polite way. It is quite possible your date may understand and appreciate your excitement to meet him. Sympathize with him on the sudden development and speak in an understanding tone. This would bring you closer together and help him understand you better.
