Separation from marriage has become the most common thing in the United States. However, it cannot be applied to one and all as there are several categories. Some couples have been married all their lives without having faced any separation. |
A lot of things have to be taken into account while drawing up marriage separation statistics. Some of the things that need to be taken into account include the age of the couple, the time line of the marriage, whether there are children and whether or not the couple reconciled after the separation.
Nearly 10 percent of the couples who are young and under the age group of 35, reconcile after separation. Older couples, who divorce after they have reached fifty years, do not reconcile more often. Divorce does not exist or is very low among seniors. Divorce is the most rampant in age groups of people who are 25 to 35 years.
If there are children from the marriage, then the chances of reconciliation are higher. One of the research shows that nearly 44 percent of couples in all categories have reconciled after separation and before they got divorced. However, experts do agree that there is a lot of discrepancy in this figure. Among the statistics taken, it actually shows the number of marriages and divorce. A state by state research shows that most number of divorces take place in states of New York and California.
However, among all the separation that takes place, people who have one or more children often make efforts to reconcile even after the divorce is through. So, though the divorce existed at one point of time, it becomes null after they reconcile.
