The unwritten pledge of loyalty towards work should be inscribed within a leader. ‘Work is worship’ should be the motto.
Another valuable leadership skill to work towards is to be goal oriented. Leaders are much focused and constantly devise means to accomplish their objective. No leader can achieve anything alone. An important step towards achieving goals is to have the capability to train one’s team members. In the process of moving ahead, as a good leader one should be able to prioritize the sequence of importance of work. One of the most significant skills that a leader needs to develop is to stay clear of private glory. An able leader celebrates victory as a joint venture without taking any personal credits.
On the personal front, it is always prudent to create an open channel of communication wherein one is able to obtain one’s own feedback from the members. This approach aids in evaluating one’s style of management. The skill of efficient communication is a must. Communication with the team mates should be positive and effective. A good leader is a patient listener too! It is vital to hear others, be it in the professional or personal front and thereafter suggest alternatives to soothe the worries of the members of the group. Last but not the least; an able leader sets his or her personality as an example for others to follow.
